Not a Believer Whilst ...

Abu Huraira (ra) narrated that the messenger of Allah (saw) said; “An adulterer, while he is committing illegal sexual intercourse is not a believer, and a person at the time of drinking alcohol is not a believer, and a thief at the time of stealing is not a believer, and when a robber robs in a variation while the people are looking he is not a believer. In another variation and repentance maybe accepted after that”. The punishment for a thief is the chopping off of a hand and he must also ask the person for forgiveness and repay what he took. This must be done in one go or in instalments.

Khamar has a much broader meaning than just alcohol, khamar refers to anything which clouds the mind. Allah and the messenger (saw) have cursed those who consume khamar as well as all the following people;

-The producers
-The one who it is produced for

-The one who consumes it

-The one who serves it

-The one who carries it
-The one who it is carried for

-The one who earns a profit from the sale of it
-The one who buys it
-The one whom it is bought for.

asalamu aliakum

I just wanted to add that...the person who does these acts can be a muslim with belief in Allah...but while he commits these acts his iman is lifted from him. And of course repentance is always open for those that are sincere.

----That's how it was explained to me. all mistakes are from myself and shaytaan and all good comes from Allah swt.
